About

We moved to Troy in 1957 when I was in first grade, just 2 years after Troy became a city. There was still a farm on the south side of our street. I still fondly remember watching my mother chase a cow out of our garden with a broom stick in her hand. It seems the barb wire fence fell over and the cow just happened to see some easy pickings.

I graduated first in my class from Troy High in 1969. I just happened to have a scan of my original speech that I gave at graduation and have posted it on this blog. Having reread it, I thought you might want to get some insights on what this 17 year old had to say then and compare it to now if you so desire.

Back in the early 90′s, I began attending city council meetings and began making comments at the podium during public comments and on specific agenda items [it was allowed then]. Red was the other constant gad fly. James Savage joined us and still continues to day. I on the other hand have taken up to an occasional blog post.

Sit back and enjoy. No political correctness here.
